Might even see a trade. I'd bet on Nikitin being moved with some retained salary for futures to a team like LA that plays a style that might not need him to rely on his less-than-stellar mobility.

It's not a good D corps by any stretch, but if most things go right (not likely) it's as good a D corps as what teams like Dallas, New Jersey, Philly, Columbus, and Colorado iced and are icing.

I'd say he's been better than Fayne so far, but he's too fresh to give top-4 minutes. He has legitimately surprised me in the best possible way. Still a small sample size and things can change with a couple bad games, but as of now, I'd say he's a perfect #5 Dman at age 22.

He's been very solid. His foot speed hasn't been an issue and he's generally been making good decisions in his own zone. Even when pressed he's been able to effectively move the puck.
Playing a pretty safe, quiet game, but that's all I hoped from him considering we've got more dynamic young guys already in the system. Hopefully he adds a little nastiness tho to go with that size

I was never too concerned about his future, but judging what the isles fans were sayin about him after the deal, I thought maybe pc's words of expecting him to make the roster already were abit hasty.

He's on my opening day top 6 barring a disaster against van

I know it likely doesn't need to be said, but damn am I ever stoked to see Lander doing so well since Eakins was fired. I know I'm jumping the gun a touch, but based on his style of play, I think we've found ourselves a Horcoff/Smyth hybrid!

Almost makes me want the team to claim Paajarvi off waivers and see what he could do under this coaching regime.
